CPS Teacher Program

Made possible by Chicago Public Schools and the City of Chicago, the CPS Teacher Program from Wintrust Mortagge offers terrific programs for first-time buyers, as well as buyers with little or no money saved up for a down payment.

Qualified CPS teachers can get up to $7,500 in homebuyer assistance. (The CPS Teacher Homebuyer Assistance Program is an interest-free loan forgiven at the end of the five years and requires five year owner occupancy.)

Each eligible CPS teacher must be:

•    A CPS teacher for at least one academic year.
•    Committed to teach an additional five years at CPS.
•    A first-time homebuyer in Chicago with homeownership education certificate.

The assistance is:

• $7,500 to purchase/live in a new CHA mixed-income development.
• $3,000 to purchase/live anywhere else in the City.
